Stoke Poges Singers

Our Motto “Singing for Pleasure”

Registered Charity No. 1096318

The Stoke Poges Singers are a mixed voice (SATB) choir whose members enjoy singing in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  We hold a minimum of three concerts each year, one of which is usually a religious work performed in St Giles Church.

Our repertoire ranges from Mozart’s Requiem to songs from South Pacific and Oklahoma!  For Schedule please see our Calendar.

Conductor and Accompanist

Conductor, Graham Roitt

Graham began his conducting at school in High Wycombe with the Dance Band. Whilst at University in London he conducted his college choir and orchestra for two years, and after leaving he conducted several small groups including a performance of Haydn Nelson Mass. For a number of years Graham was a member of the Royal Free Singers in Windsor where he sang Bass. He travelled with them to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belarus and Russia. This is Graham’s 9th year with The Stoke Poges Singers, and our performances together have included Vivaldi Gloria, Gilbert and Sullivan Pirates of Penzance and Suppè Requiem. Graham is a member of the Association of British Choral Directors.

Jo Eden, Accompanist

Jo, retired piano teacher and church organist, joined The Stoke Poges Singers in the 1970’s and was later appointed their accompanist. Jo is also organist for St Mary’s Church, Hitcham, Captain of Hitcham Church Tower Bells and a member of Burnham Handbell Society.

Come Sing with Us. New Members Welcome.

If you would like to join us then you can either turn up at The St. Andrew’s Church Centre for rehearsals or you can contact us. You will be made very welcome and you will not be under any obligation for the first few weeks until you have found out how you get on with us. If you used to sing many years ago, or if you have ever thought of singing, or if you would like a change from your current choir, then why not give us a try? We will give you lots of help and encouragement.
